Barcelona to attract China and UK's foreign investment

In November, local city promotion representatives will attend several international trade shows in countries like the UK and China in order to attract investment projects and foster sound economic ties.

Barcelona will have a joint stand with the Catalan Government, once again under the Barcelona Catalonia umbrella, at the Great British Show's Going Global international pavilion, next November 17-18 in London. This world-renowned show is directed at the British public and represents a new opportunity for Barcelona to meet with newly created companies, in order to promote the city's business landscape in London.

Barcelona Catalonia will host a daily conference detailing the city's business approach and its investment opportunities in front of local startups and entrepreneurs that might be interested in strengthening international business links with the city.

Barcelona, at London's World Travel Market show

London's World Travel Market Show is the second largest tourism show in Europa and one of the biggest around the world. From November 7th to 9th, Barcelona City Council (through Barcelona Turisme) will have a city promotion stand at Catalonia's pavilion. For the first time, local tourism representatives will be present at the stand in order to disseminate local tourism policies.

The delegation will be composed by the Agustí Colom, Councillor for Commerce and Markets; Albert de Gregorio, Occupation, Business and Tourism Manager; and Joan Torroella, Director of Tourism. The fair's newsletter will be dedicated to Barcelona's tourism management.

The Catalan capital visits the ‘Chinese Silicon Valley'

For the last four years, Barcelona has been present at the Chinese Hi Tech Fair at Shenzhen, which will host its 17th edition from November 16th to 21st.  Barcelona has developed strong links with both the fair and the region, following several visits to Barcelona's tech fairs (MWC, SmartCity and IoT).
Shenzen is considered the Chinese Silicon Valley. Barcelona will promote the city as mobile, gaming and smart technologies international hub.
