Versace returns to Passeig de Grącia

The Italian brand will invest 3 € million in new Barcelona premises and open at the end of this year. The company closed its only sales point in the city in 2005.

Italian luxury clothing and accessories firm Versace will open a new store on Barcelona's Passeig de Grącia over the coming months. The firm will belocated at number85 on this famous shopping boulevard in premises once occupied by insurers Adeslas. The 500 m 2 shop plans to open at the end of this year after a complete make-over of the space valued at 3 € million. 

In 2011, the company announced its intention to expand back into the international market with launches in new markets. In order to do this, last February the firm sold 20% of its capital to investment fund Blackstone for 150 € million. 

The brand, founded in 1978 by designer Gianni Versace, ended last year with a turnover of 500 € million.
