Urbiotica wins smart cities prize in New York

The company will set up for two months in the city and it might target its expansion plans on the United States.

Barcelona-based company Urbiotica, specializing in sensors for urban infrastructures to control car parking, traffic or rubbish bins, was one of the winners of the W2NY smart cities contest, organized by the City of New York's business development area.

Thanks to this award, the company will be able to set up in New York for two months on a programme called ‘World to NYC Smart and Sustainable Cities' and accelerate its expansion plans in the United States.

During its development stage in 2008, Barcelona Activa gave the company support, and it has also participated in the last two editions of the Mobile World Congress.
