Microsoft to invest 10 million annually in city-based ICTs

The multinational offers up to 30,000 € in ICT support to develop technology startups.

Microsoft Ibérica is to invest up to 10 € million per year to promote technology development in Barcelona and city-based companies, according to an agreement signed between the multinational and the municipal government.

The agreement makes specific provisions for support to entrepreneurs, with technology support valued at 30,000 € per year already being offered to 143 city startups. This programme is aimed at technology-based companies with turnovers of less than 10 € million per year.

Microsoft will also promote development areas related to smart cities and e-Government services with extra cloud computing services.
